United, We Create Full Bellies!

United Way of the Cape Fear Area announces the receipt of a generous $100,000 gift from The Full Belly Project Ltd. to help fight against financial insecurity in the greater Cape Fear region.

Wilmington, NC. (December 17, 2020): To ring in the holiday season, United Way of the Cape Fear Area is pleased to announce the receipt of a generous $100,000 gift from The Full Belly Project Ltd. to help spearhead the fight for financial stability in the greater Cape Fear region.

Based in Wilmington, North Carolina, but also working diligently across the globe, the Full Belly Project envisions a world in which communities should awaken each morning to a day of economic possibility and go to sleep each night with bellies that are full. United Way of the Cape Fear Area will honor The Full Belly Project’s vision by using the funds to ensure that residents of their founding community wake up with opportunities and go to bed with full bellies.

“This is an amazing example of how two organizations with complimentary visions can come together on behalf of our community to provide support at a critical time.”

Tommy Taylor, CEO of United Way of the Cape Fear Area

In dedication of the Full Belly Project’s generosity and legacy, United Way of the Cape Fear Area is also pleased to announce the development of a new Leadership Circle. This partnership is creating economic opportunities. This solution is one specifically focused on food security for all.

“It is important to the Full Belly Project that we leave a legacy in our home community who so graciously hosted and supported us over the years. We hope this contribution to the United Way of the Cape Fear Area will help to multiply their efforts in building sustainable, economic opportunities and resilient communities within the region.”
