The Cape Fear Area is experiencing a surge in need for utility assistance. Some of our neighbors are faced with losing essential services like safe and reliable water because of financial struggles.Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA), has teamed up with the United Way of the Cape Fear Area to help address these needs and to help get our neighbors back on the road to self sufficiency.
CFPUA has initiated the CFPUA Assist – Neighbors Helping Neighbors program that will be administered by the United Way of the Cape Fear Area and Salvation Army.United Way of the Cape Fear Area has been investing in utility assistance with the Salvation Army for many years. The bulk of this assistance has gone to electric utility relief, however water utility access has become an emerging gap.CFPUA, United Way and Salvation Army are working together to tackle this community issue.
This program will:
Help those in need focus on building "self sufficiency"
Assist with a one-time water utility bill for those who are eligible
Encourage neighbors to help neighbors in need
How you can help:
100% of your donation will go directly to the client’s water bill (no administrative fee is taken out)
CFPUA Assist – Neighbors Helping Neighbors program is intended to provide relief during a one-time unexpected financial difficulty
