It's International Volunteer Day! We celebrate the contributions of volunteers, today and every day.Whether you’re spending an hour a week reading to young children to boost their pre-reading skills, or contributing to the latest food drive, or taking part in volunteer activities through your place of work or worship – you're making our community a better place to live. When we volunteer, we benefit as much as we benefit others. It’s a fact that people who volunteer experience a boost in their mental health. We feel good – mentally and physically – and odds are we’ll enjoy our fellow volunteers, who have chosen to serve for the same reasons.Explore local opportunities to make meaningful, lasting change at buff.ly/33Yauqb#LiveUnited #Volunteering #Volunteer #Volunteerism #Community ... Habitat for Humanity is about more than building houses. They’re building communities. This is just one of the reasons we love spending time with them so much. Check out these pictures from a recent build with our friends at Corning Credit Union.UWCFA helps to fund unique needs in our neighborhoods such as the Rebuild program, which started because of the damage caused by Hurricane Florence in 2018. Due to many residents still with outstanding needs, this program has been extended.Volunteer or make a donation to UWCFA today to become part of the positive change these builds offer. When you give to UWCFA, your funds are matched or leveraged through government, agency, and business partnerships. Your gift supports organizations, like Habitat for Humanity, that are making a difference in the Cape Fear Area.#LiveUnited #Community #Partners #Rebuild #Build #Change ... See MoreSee Less
